Nice quiet park on a Sunday. Some sites with electric, some primitive. Water spigot at park entry. Dump station at park office a mile away. Water pump handle had to be held down continually for water to flow. Septic drain hole so large, I had to hold my foot on my rv sewer hose so it did not advance down the hole. Quite a balancing act and must have caused great amusement to the private park located next to the dump station. The whole park needs an upgrade. Paid $22 + tax.
Was happy to stumble upon this park a short ways off from I-75. Beautiful natural area, full of marshy ponds & quite a few hiking trails. Features a small dock where you can walk right up to and a little over the water, great for photography or just taking in the serenity of the place.
Didn't get to see much. Will be back. To look more into it
This is great place to stop over for a night or two, but to call it a campground might be stretching it a bit. A cross between rustic and modern maybe? It does have water spigots to fill water cans etc but not on the camp sites. It has 60 campsites split between the family side and the horse side. Less than half have electrical pedestals. The dump station is at the HQ a mile or two down the road. The dump station does not have potable water. The site description for site length on the website is just wrong, so check with the ranger. There does not appear to be showers out here. That all being said it's beautiful out here. It's quiet and secluded with lots of trails. Easy on and off the highway,, the campground entrance is a mile or two east on TR218 from the park entrance. The sites are gravel and level. So dump your waste tanks and fill your water tanks before coming out!
I guess four stars because the place was clean the cabin was fine nothing wrong with it except it was so hot and we didn't know there was no swimming until we got there I mean what's a lake with no swimming. They don't have showers but we knew that going in. It's Equestrian Park which sounds great until you get there and everything smells like you're at the zoo. But they did play a kids movie on Saturday night which was really nice cuz it gave the kids something to do for a little while. But other than that there's not much going on at this park. The rates were good and if the weather was a little cooler we might have enjoyed it a little more and been able to use the walking pass. Not their fault it was so hot so not five stars but 4 because I think it was worth it.
